Bad Costume 5/25/07

Troy night out , a monthly celebration of the arts in downtown Troy , NY .
Bad Cosume was asked to perform as part of the events vacant storefrront artist project , we said yes and brought 2 nice sets of improvised music to the table .The building we took over was an old jewelery store complete with a walk in safe and old merchandising displays.After borrowing power from the smoothie shop next door we threw some junk around the room to decorate and it was on. Joining us on this special occasion was Jason Jette , the extra layer of sound he provided fit like a glove and we hope he can join us everytime.The whole event was videotaped (thanks justin).Now for the multimedia stuff.

Step it up 4/14/07

This past saturday I played out in front of the New York State capitol getting people fired up after marching there from washington park, all part of the nationwide Step it up event.I had originally planned to bring only records but grey skies and high winds had me sketched out about bringing my turntables outdoors with no cover . So for the first time I mixed straight from the laptop using a freeware application called djay and the not so free ableton live 5 . Besides it being very hard to see the screen outside during the day things went off fine. After several speeches I flipped on the beat for Herbal T and Theory
(who killed by the way) and called it a goodtime .

Recapitation

2/3 of Bad Costume
A special thanks to David Zeidman for the invitation to help score his sister Aryn Zev's piece Recapitation at the sanctuary for independent media , It was a total blast . Dave and I played off of each other awesome .Our performance included video projected behind a 3 tiered stage , a great group of actors, broken dishes and the blood of Giuseppe(anything for art)Marra . A 3 camera mix was shot on video , I took an audio recording off my mixer and a video of just dave and I . All will be available to anyone interested just shoot me an email . From multimedia sensory overload to my next project sequencing beats and dusting off my turntables for some live outdoor hip - hop in Washington Park (Albany NY) on the Lakehouse Stage April 14th as part of the nationwide "Step it up" festivities/protests.
